Services
Psychoeducation - Understanding Anxiety
With a Psychotherapist or Counselling Social Worker
Three counselling sessions guide you in understanding anxiety and developing practical coping skills. You’ll explore how anxiety affects your mind and body, practice grounding techniques, and learn simple mindfulness strategies to stay present and manage stress. By the end of the program, you’ll have your own set of tools to help you feel more confident and in control, both in daily life and during challenging moments.
GWFHT has several approaches addressing anxiety that we may recommend or present as optional services to help you:
Acupuncture - Restoring balance
With a traditional healer
Acupuncture is a gentle therapy using very fine, sterile needles to support relaxation and help your nervous system recover from stress. Treatments are tailored to your needs and complement the other parts of the program. Participants are eligible for up to two sessions: a 45-minute first visit (assessment and treatment) and a 30-minute follow-up.
Healthy Eating – Nutrition and Mindful Eating
with Registered Dietitian
Workshop and consultations help you build healthy eating habits and develop a mindful approach to meals. You’ll learn practical tips to apply on daily basis. You can also have the option to schedule up to three one-on-one sessions to explore their personalized eating patterns and make sustainable plan that fit your lifestyle.
Medication Review – Education and Support
with a Clinical Pharmacist
This optional session helps you understand the medications prescribed to you. We can review the benefits and drawbacks of different medications, discuss side effects, check for interactions, and get guidance on what may contribute to anxiety. The goal is to give you clear, practical advice so you feel confident in your care.
Physical Symptoms – Managing Body Stress
with a Chiropractor
Stress and anxiety often affect the body. Individual session with a chiropractor can help you identify physical tension, pain, or fatigue and learn techniques to relax your body. You’ll also discuss posture, movement, and exercises that support comfort and function in everyday life.

This program sounds great! I really want to register but I already have a family doctor or nurse practitioner. Can I still join?
Unfortunately, because you are already attached to a primary care provider, you are not eligible to join Get Well Health Team at this time. Our team is currently accepting patients who do not have a primary care provider, with priority given to residents in the M2N and M3H postal code areas. Please contact Health Care Connect or your local Ontario Health Teams for more options.
