QI Project Manager

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive QI Project Manager to lead quality improvement initiatives and operational projects across our organization. This role supports leadership in planning, coordinating, and implementing healthcare projects, monitoring progress, and ensuring stakeholder engagement. The QI Project Manager applies evidence-based approaches to improve processes, outcomes, and organizational efficiency.

Job Type: Full time on site

Pay range : $58,000 – $66,500 annually

Duties and Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Leadership

  • Coordinate administrative policies, procedures, and schedules for the organization and affiliates
  • Assist the medical director and president in operational duties
  • Manage multi-stakeholder projects within the organization, external partners, and the wider health system
  • Lead complex multi-year projects, ensuring timelines, milestones, and budgets are met
  • Negotiate and obtain stakeholder buy-in for QI and operational initiatives
  • Assess risks in planning, design, and development/procurement
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to organizational policies and procedures

Quality Improvement & Reporting

  • Conduct QI analytics, metrics tracking, and reporting to support decision-making
  • Develop project plans, goals, specifications, requirements, and budgets
  • Document processes and procedures to support standardization and sustainability
  • Communicate project plans, progress, and results to leadership and stakeholders
  • Apply for grants and funding to support QI initiatives
  • Perform project tasks as needed due to budget or time constraints

Collaboration & Communication

  • Foster strong relationships with staff, leadership, and external partners
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
  • Ensure alignment of QI projects with organizational priorities and patient-centered care
Education and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Business, Science, Engineering or a related field
  • 3–5+ years of project management experience, preferably in healthcare or quality improvement / continuous process improvement
  • Demonstrated track record in implementing process improvement and change management initiatives, ideally in a health care environment
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to use evidence/data in support of process redesign
  • Strong interpersonal skills to connect with diverse staff, patients, and stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated project management, facilitation, leadership & negotiation skills
  • Client-focused, positive, and professional attitude
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and responsive
  • Knowledge of web design and social media management is considered an asset.
  • Experience in event planning and management is considered an asset.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is an asset
  • Expertise in Lean Methodologies, QI approaches and tools (e.g. process mapping/flow diagrams, cause and effect diagrams, affinity diagrams, tree diagrams, 5S, FMEA, PDSA etc.)
