Registered Chiropodist

Job description

Job Type:  Part time. Work hours can include weekdays and rotational weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments and provide treatment for a wide range of foot and lower limb conditions.
  • Perform biomechanical assessments and gait analysis to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Deliver medical pedicures, callus care, nail care, and management of ingrown toenails, corns, warts, and fungal infections.
  • Provide diabetic foot care, including preventive care, monitoring, and education.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures as appropriate, including local anesthetic administration, partial or total nail avulsion, wart excision, and wart needling.
  • Educate patients about foot health and collaborate with them to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in accordance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to support holistic patient care and program development.
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices and evidence-based approaches in chiropody.

Education and Qualifications

  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario.
  • Authorized to practice to the full scope of chiropody.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of evidence-based approaches to foot care.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to educate and engage patients effectively.
  • Compassionate, professional, and patient-centered in care delivery.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in English; fluency in additional languages reflective of the local community is an asset.
